About

Hello~ I’m Joey, a game designer/developer/programmer/jack of most trades. I live in the USA now but I’m from Singapore.
I’ve worked on a range of titles from Towerborne, The Bazaar, and some other work I’m not allowed to mention. Currently, I’m living out my indie nightmare working on Ruffed Up with Elusive Games.
I’m good at designing game content that requires a technical eye, and I love working on anything that can help speed up the workflow of the other designers on the team, be it tools, processes or just ways to communicate better.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore and a Master’s in Entertainment Technology from Carnegie Mellon University’s Entertainment Technology Center.
My personal projects (game jams, etc.) can be found on my Itch.io and I yell at the void very sparingly on Bluesky. I’m always eager to connect and collaborate with other like-minded devs so shoot me a message on any platform if you wanna talk.
Questions No One Asked Me
What are your favorite games?
Slay the Spire 2, Deadlock, Skyrim, Golden Sun, Final Fantasy XIV, Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Heartbreak, Umineko, Breath of the Wild. I grew up playing handhelds and on PC since no one would buy us a console (10 year olds in SG live miserable lives)
Why did you become a game developer?
I literally just did everything my parents told me not to. But also I played too many games as a kid and now I pay the price
What are your non-gaming interests?
I watch movies, cook, and drink beer. I’m also trying to get better at drawing (it’s tough) and playing guitar (impossible). I also like playing board games though I recognize that is some highly gaming adjacent behavior and not worth mentioning since 1 in 2 game developers is addicted to board games (I made that stat up)
Fun fact about yourself?
I can name every Pokemon
